Maria Elena Grant is the lead Interior Designer, Organizer, and Real Estate Stager for Awesome Rooms, LLC. She founded the company in 2007. It designs and organizes many residences and professional offices, in addition to staging homes for real estate showings. Maria-Elena has given seminars and classes on decorating, organizing, and staging at local community schools, libraries and organizations. This fall, she will be teaching two classes at Bergen Community College.
Awesome Rooms has partnered with Metropolitan Window Fashions in Paramus, NJ. Maria Elena served as a Custom Decorating Consultant, specializing in window treatments and carpet selection. She has also worked in other decorating businesses and includes furniture selection as another one of her specialties.
Maria Elena was a contributing author to “Big Bold Business Advice” from New Jersey Women Business Owners published by Woodpecker Press. Her chapter highlights the increased productivity that comes with having an organized office. The book received the Axiom Business Book Award.
She was honored as New Jersey State Business Woman of the Year by the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO). The award honors a members who has distinguished herself in her business, NJAWBO and her community.

She has a degree in Chemistry from Caldwell University and earned an MBA in finance from Seton Hall University. Maria-Elena subsequently completed the Interior Decorating Program at Bergen Community College. Before interior decorating she began her work experience as an associate engineer for AT&T/ Bell Laboratories. She gained skills and experience that she later used as a marketing executive with Avaya and Lucent Technologies.
